In this report, we present an incredibly special project: a prestigious, two-floor penthouse in the heart of Paris. Since the original interior was quite dark, Ester Lipsch Creatief Ontwerp transformed it into an open and light unit full of ambience, which enables the clients to enjoy the spacious home and the fantastic location optimally.

“At the beginning of 2020, I got in touch with the clients, since they were looking for an interior designer for the penthouse they bought,” Ester Lipsch tells us. She is the owner of the internationally operating design studio. “They were very charmed by one of our previous projects and wanted the same light, sleek, and open-concept experience.”

To achieve this goal, the original poky and dark layout was overhauled completely, after which the interior was rebuilt. Strong sightlines create a sense of connection. All rooms get a light feel due to the choice for a calm color palette with soft shades. The herringbone floor and oakwood slat wall – which can be seen, among other places, in the staircase, the primary bedroom, and walk-in closet – add to the warmth of the house.

On the lower floor, the luxurious kitchen immediately catches your eye. Ester: “The clients wanted a room that is connected to the rest of the living room, but still private.

Therefore, we built a surround with a lot of glass around the kitchen. You can open the windows near the living room to create even more unity.”

Moreover, we saved a lot of storage space in the interior concept, in such a way that the storage room itself is invisible. “In the wooden staircase surround, we have created closets,” explains Ester. “There is also storage space hidden in the en-suite bathroom, where the big neolith panels have been worked carefully in order not to interrupt the sleek appearance.”

The exclusive feel is enriched by the choice for special, innovative elements, such as the design material by Meljac and an invisible cooking surface in the kitchen, which helped to maintain the sleek appearance. The two patios – including the rooftop patio of no less than 80 square meters – were also included in the interior design concept. The Mediterranean furnishing strengthens the international allure that the penthouse radiates.

Ester: “We delivered the house turnkey, which means that we took care of everything – from the overall picture to the smallest details. Therefore, everything is aligned perfectly, which created a completely different home that suits the new homeowners and the unique location.”
